Live Inn- Park Inn by Radisson Blu

Hey guys! Hope you guys had a great week. Today’s post is going to be about my experience at the Live Inn which is one of the restaurants at Park Inn. Yesterday was my dad’s birthday so we my mum paid 😂- thanks mum) treated him. Anyway, our dining experience was great with just a few issues with the service and portions. Here’s our experience in pictures:

  • Here’s the menu:

  • Here are some drinks we got:

  • For a starter we got two classic ceasar salads. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend ordering this for anyone who wants to have JUST a salad. The portion was quite disappointing. Yes, I know we ordered it as a starter but we felt the serving could have been bigger and better presented. Nonetheless, the flavors were great, we were left wanting more.Literally and figuratively

The classic caesar salad.

  • For mains we got three different items; We had lamb, chicken and fish;My sister had a burger. Again, the portion of the fish could have been better. My parents got one prawn in a dish that was supposed to contain PRAWNS.( Multiple, not one.) So again a bit of a disappointment. The lamb on the other hand was a VERY generous portion so I would definitely recommend ordering this to share between at least four people.( We still had leftovers) The highlight of the lamb for me was the way it was presented.

After the main course, we were stuffed. And of course I had to have a little photo shoot because the hotel and restaurant was so aesthetically pleasing, I couldn’t handle it. If you go places just to take Instagram photos, Park inn is most definitely for you.

Overall, our experience was great and I’m looking forward to visiting Park Inn again. I would definitely recommend visiting the Live Inn restaurant. Just as long as you don’t mind waiting for some time before your food is ready. With all that being said, I hope you’ve enjoyed this post. As usual, feel free to leave comments, like this and share(please tag me in your posts so I can see them) I also made a facebook page for my blog so give that a like here .

Where’s Jadyn? Dar Es Salaam

Heyyy guys, I haven’t been as active as I would have liked to be these past 3 months but honestly, it’s because I felt that I didn’t have any ‘interesting’ things or places to blog about. But I’m back. So recently, I traveled to Tanzania with my family(if you follow me on Instagram, you would know) and  I had quite an amazing experience. We spent two days in Dar Es Salaam and this is what this post will be about.

  • Day One

We landed quite early in the day so our adventure begun almost immediately . Tanzania is such a beautiful country and we were so lucky to be welcomed with an overhead view of Mount Kilimanjaro in all of its glory.

Mount Kilimajaro

Once we freshened up at the hotel we headed to Kunduchi Wet ‘n’ Wild Waterpark where we had a great time cooling ourselves down because it was so hot.

Later that evening we had dinner with one of my mum’s friends at Cape Town Fish Market and can I just tell you guys how amazingggg the food was. If you’ve been to Ocean basket in Nairobi, the seafood was even better. The restaurant also provided a great view of the city by night and because it was near the beach we had a fantastic view of the boats as well.

The overall experience was amazing and if you’re ever in Dar Es Salaam I would highly recommend visiting this restaurant.

  • Day Two

Our second day was spent mostly walking around the city and just exploring.

There’ll be more pictures on my instagram .

Arbor Place

Heyyy guys, I know it’s been a long time since I’ve used this platform but I’m back! In light of this, I’ve decided to create a category on my blog called “where’s Jadyn?” which will feature posts of all the fun places I will explore. Anyway, today my family and I had lunch at Arbor place in Lavington. If you’re all about aesthetics and all things ‘tumblr’, Arbor Place is for you. The food was great and overall ,the ambiance and atmosphere amazing & calming.

For starters we had two salads; a classic chicken Caesar salad and a halloumi  and grilled vegetable salad:

For our main course we had 4 different items:

  1. A prawn red curry
  2. Vegetarian laksa noodles
  3. An arbor beef burger
  4. Steak

For dessert we had:

  1. Italian Cassata
  2. House Coffee
  3. Apple crumble and Ice cream

Of course because of how pretty the restaurant was, I had to take even more photos:

Here are some other photos I took of my family because we had such a great time.

I would definitely recommend visiting Arbor place. If you share this post kindly tag me in it so I can see.

Have a great Sunday! -Jadyn

Sunday Lunches: Urban Eatery

Hey guys! For today’s post I’m going to be doing a review on Urban Eatery. Urban eatery is located in Westlands-specifically delta towers. The restaurant is such a beautiful place with very tumblr decor that makes you feel so at home. The restaurant offers a wide range of cuisines from Indian to  Mexican & Lebanese.

  • Two salads as starters:
  • For mains we had:

Shrimp pad Thai, BBQ chicken & mushroom pizza, Goan prawns and I had the Cuban pork

The food was amazing and I would definitely recommend the Goan prawns for anyone who loves spicy food. The Cuban pork was beautiful and i would also recommend trying that.

  • Drinks:

I had a pineapple strawberry slushy and my sister had the mixed berry slushy. My slushy is on the bottom right.

And finally, because Urban eatery has such a great space I had to take a few photos with my sister:

The walls in Urban eatery are also really beautiful and have beautiful food-based puns and quotes. I would definitely recommend visiting this restaurant.

I hope you guys enjoy this post! Feel free to share this, comment, like and suggest other great spaces I could visit or any post suggestions.

When all your friends are tumblr…

Today’s post is going to be something a little different from my other posts. I spent the day with one of my close friends, Janice . We spent most of our day taking photos and of course we had to go to Java

So after Java we headed home and walked around to take photos… Here are some of the photos. Tip: When taking photos on roads please be careful and try not to take photos on busy roads. Roadside photos are the trickiest… Here are some of today’s photos…

Today we learned that sometimes the ‘perfect shot’ can take minutes to achieve an example is the one below… I’m pretty sure that took about 10 minutes and after about 10 shots we got one we were proud of….

That’s all for today…Enjoy!

How to be “tumblr”

So just last week I think, I closed school. Yaaayyyyyy! It’s finally time to kick back and just relax. So I was casually going through Instagram feeds( it’s not creepy) and I noticed all these people commenting “wow, you’re so tumblr” I have to admit though, I am one of those people. But then I thought to myself. What does ‘being tumblr’ really mean. I mean, I’m sure we all have our definitions but mine is…when your general appearance, instagram feed and photos in general are just beautiful. Basically, the photos we see on tumblr. And so, I’m giving a few tips of my own on how to ‘be tumblr’..(ok this is a real thing so i’m not going to put the ‘ ‘ …dont remember what they are called….) Here are a few tips

  • Try as much as possible to take good quality photos.
  • Don’t hide who you are. Try to express who you are as a person through your photos
  • Edit as you go and try not to overuse the filters.. The photo will usually end up looking awkward.
  • Go and look at tumblr photos for inspiration

Next. Food

  • Order artistic coffee/other drinks you like.I strongly recommend  Cappuccinos. They look and taste amazing.
  • Try to ‘arrange’ your food to balance colour and textures.
  • In open, bright areas take photos from an overhead perspective while in dark areas, you can use your friends’ phone’s torch….it’s not shady only innovative.

  • ALWAYS have a camera or phone that can take good quality photos as you never know when a photo opportunity will arise.
  • Try using different angles for photos and change perspective.
  • Look at details. Most of the time we have tumblr things around us yet we fail to notice because we only look at them from a certain point. Try going closer and looking deeper.

Here are some photos I’ve taken that I think are tumblr.

That’s all for today’s post. Feel free to comment any suggestions for my next post. Enjoy

I wouldn’t really call myself a photographer…Taking photos is just something I do for fun…Recognizing the right moment to take a photo and editing it is the most fun. Here are some few photos..I took these today at Westgate and edited them with vsco.I went out with friends and I had the grilled chicken with baby potatoes(an art special) and right next to it is an art pesto…featuring a mocha shake and the same old iced tea. I’d recommend these two because and tea. Of course I had a capuccino later on but I already did a post with one.(see my previous post about coffee). In case you were wondering I used the HB2 and M3 filters on vsco and reduced the exposure to -3. I’d  strongly recommend playing around with the exposure because I feel it really has the power to improve the photo. just a little photo advice from an amateur.  Comment a suggestion for my next post.
